Meadow of Flowers

Gulmarg

At 2,650 m on the slopes of the Pir Panjal range, Gulmarg is one of Asia's premier ski resorts and a year-round mountain playground. Snow-blanketed pine forests, the world's second-highest cable car, and rolling meadows that turn into a sea of wildflowers in summer make it the most spectacular hill station in Kashmir.

High-altitude peaks, sky-bound cable cars, world-class fairways, ancient shrines and one of India's oldest mountain churches — these six landmarks capture the spirit of Gulmarg in every season. Pick your favourites, then send us an enquiry below to build a custom Gulmarg itinerary.

Apharwat Peak

Apharwat Peak

Snow Summit

Towering at 4,200 m, Apharwat is the snowy summit reached by Phase II of the Gulmarg Gondola. Almost year-round white with snow, it is the heart of Gulmarg's skiing and snowboarding circuit and offers breathtaking views of the Line of Control, Nanga Parbat on a clear day, and the entire Kashmir valley laid out below.

Cable Car

The world's second-highest operating cable car, the Gulmarg Gondola whisks you from Gulmarg meadow (2,650 m) to Kongdoori (3,080 m) in Phase I, and on to the icy shoulders of Apharwat Peak (3,980 m) in Phase II. The 12-minute glide above pine forests and snowfields is itself one of the most unforgettable rides in the Himalayas.
